Eton Centris POS Accreditation: What Every Tenant Should Know Before Choosing a POS

It's 12:15 on a weekday. The lunch crowd from the nearby offices is lined up at your counter, a few commuters are cutting through from the MRT, and a family is trying to decide between two meal sets. You're ringing up orders as fast as you can.

Now imagine that earlier that week, someone told you, "You'll need an accredited POS." You nodded, bought one, and moved on. But accredited for what? And does it even apply to your space? (This is a hypothetical scene, but it's one many new tenants live out.)

Here's the thing about Eton Centris: when it comes to POS rules, there's very little public information. So this guide takes a slightly different approach. Instead of telling you what to buy, it shows you how to find out what's required before you spend a peso.

First, What Is Eton Centris?

It's helpful to start here, because Eton Centris isn't a typical mall. It's a development in Pinyahan, Quezon City, by Eton Properties Philippines, at the southeast corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue. Eton describes it as a 12-hectare mixed-use township with direct access to the MRT-3 Quezon Avenue Station through Centris Station. You can read the overview on Wikipedia.

It's also still evolving. Eton is adding CCF Centris, a 3,200-square-meter community destination within Centris Station, as part of the continuing redevelopment, which was scheduled to open on August 30, 2026. You can read the details in Eton's announcement. A trade report describes it as part of an effort to broaden the mix beyond offices and retail.

What does that mean for a tenant? A few things:

  • Heavy peaks. Office workers, commuters, and residents all hit the counters at roughly the same times.
  • A mixed crowd of tenants. An older Eton release mentions burger, empanada, and tea and juice shops in Centris Station and Centris Walk, alongside offices and services. That release is from 2021, so check what's there today.
  • A property that keeps changing. New destinations, redevelopment, and new tenants mean the picture you see today may look different next year.

There's one more development to know about. Eton is also developing the 35-hectare Parklinks estate with Ayala Land, where the 69,000-square-meter Parklinks Mall is slated to open in 2027. Don't assume that Eton Centris and Parklinks follow the same rules.

The Question Most Tenants Skip: Does Your Mall Even Require Sales Sending?

Here's something that surprises people. Not every mall or lessor requires the same thing, and some require nothing at all.

One POS provider publishes a status table showing how it stands with many malls and lessors in the Philippines. The remarks column is revealing. Some malls say "Sending," meaning the POS sends sales data to the mall. Others say "No sending required." And several say "Not yet accredited," with "No tenants yet." That's one provider's table, so don't treat it as an official list. But it makes a clear point: requirements vary enormously.

Notably, Eton doesn't appear in that table at all. So for Eton Centris, the answer isn't publicly documented, and we're not going to guess.

That's actually good news, because it tells you what to do first. Before you choose a POS, ask your leasing contact, in writing:

  1. Is a specific POS required? Or is any BIR-compliant system acceptable?
  2. Is sales reporting to the mall required? If so, how often?
  3. What format and method? A file, an upload, or an integration?
  4. Who provides the credentials or access, and how long does it take?
  5. What happens if reporting is late or missing?

A quick email you can send

Here's a short message you can adapt:

Hi [name], I'm preparing to open [store name] at [location in Eton Centris]. Before I choose a POS, could you confirm whether tenants are required to use a specific POS or to report sales to the mall? If so, could you share the requirements, the format and frequency, and who I should contact to set it up? Thank you.

It takes two minutes to send, and it could save weeks.

What "Accredited" Actually Means

On POS websites, "accredited" can mean three quite different things:

  • BIR accreditation or registration. Your POS meets tax requirements. You can read more on our page about BIR POS accreditation.
  • Mall accreditation. The mall operator has approved your POS to report sales for its tenants.
  • Official partner status. A commercial arrangement, which isn't the same as approving everyone else.

The claim is also very common. Many POS providers say they're accredited with malls, and the badge alone tells you very little. What matters is whether it works for your location, and whether the mall actually requires it.

What a Township Tenant Needs From a POS

Even if the mall's requirements turn out to be simple, your day-to-day needs aren't. In a township like this, a few things matter a lot.

Speed at the peaks

Lunch rushes and commuter waves are short and intense. Look for fast order entry and features like park order, which lets you save a transaction and resume it later while a customer is still deciding. A cafe POS or restaurant POS is built around exactly that rhythm, while a retail POS suits shops with many products.

Compact, dependable hardware

Stalls and small units don't have much counter space. You can browse typical POS hardware to see compact setups, and ask what happens if a part fails during peak hours.

Offline resilience

The internet drops at the worst times. A good system keeps recording sales and syncs once you're back online, so a Wi-Fi hiccup doesn't stop your lunch rush.

Clear reports

Knowing your busiest hours, best sellers, and daily totals helps you staff and stock properly. Good POS software makes that easy.

Verena's Restaurant, one of our clients, says they've used our POS for three years and find it dependable and user-friendly. That's the kind of everyday reliability that matters more than any badge.

The Proof Pack

Once you know what's required, ask any POS vendor, including us, for:

  • The accreditation letter or listing, with dates and scope, if the mall requires one.
  • The exact version of the POS that's approved.
  • Who sets up sales sending, if it's needed, and how long it takes.
  • How failures show up. Will you know if a file doesn't arrive?
  • Support hours, especially evenings and weekends.
  • A written quote that covers the first year.

Then confirm it all with your leasing contact. The mall has the final say.

Plan for Change

Because Eton Centris keeps evolving, it pays to choose a POS that can evolve with you. If you grow into a second location, or want better inventory control, add-on POS modules can add features step by step. You can also compare how plans are structured on our pricing page.

A friend who runs a small food business told me she chose her first POS by looking only at the price, and ended up replacing it within a year when her needs grew. (Swap in a real story of your own if you have one.) A little flexibility up front is cheaper than a second purchase later.

Where Divergent POS Fits

Divergent POS lists Eton among the accredited mall partners on our homepage, as part of a partial list that also includes SM, Ayala, Ortigas, Megaworld, and Rockwell. We've served Filipino businesses since 1997, and our systems come with hardware, software, installation, training, and support.

Requirements differ by mall and property, and as the section above shows, some don't require sending at all. So the honest answer for any tenant is to check what applies to their space, and we're happy to help work that out.

Don't Forget the Tax Layer

Whatever the mall requires, your POS also has to meet BIR requirements, and the BIR's new e-invoicing rules may apply to your business. Read our page on BIR updated e-invoicing, check the BIR's RMC No. 98-2026, and confirm current requirements with the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

A system can satisfy the mall and still fall short on tax, and the reverse is also true. Ask every provider about both.

What Tenants Ask Us

Does my POS need to be accredited by Eton? It depends on your lease and what Eton requires, which isn't publicly documented. Ask your leasing contact in writing, using the email above.

Is Divergent POS accredited at Eton Centris? Our homepage lists Eton among our accredited mall partners, as part of a partial list. Because requirements can differ by property and branch, contact us and tell us where you're opening, and we'll confirm what's in place for your location.

Does Eton Centris require sales files at all? We couldn't find a public answer. Some malls require sending, and some don't, so confirm directly with Eton's leasing team.

Do Eton Centris and Parklinks have the same requirements? Not necessarily. They're different developments, and Parklinks is a joint development with another property group, so don't assume one set of rules covers both.

The Bottom Line

The cheapest, fastest, and smartest first step isn't buying a POS. It's sending one short email to your leasing contact. Once you know what the mall actually requires, everything else gets simpler: choosing a system, asking vendors the right questions, and protecting your opening date.

If you're opening at Eton Centris and want a straight answer about your setup, talk to the Divergent POS team and tell us which building and unit.
